|
The tour will start at 9AM Friday morning, 29 February 2008 and will last about 1 to 1 ½ hours. We will have bus transportation to the plant; buses will leave from the workshop hotel, the Fiesta Resort & Conference Center, at 8AM and will return to the hotel at about 11 or 11:30AM. Upon arrival at the Boeing Mesa plant, all visitors will go through plant security and will be required to show proof of citizenship using a government issued photo ID such as a passport, driver’s license, etc… Non-US citizens: please see notes below. Absolutely no cameras, laptops, tape recorders, video cameras, cell phones with cameras, PDAs with cameras, or other similar devices will be permitted on the tour. In order for the Boeing security check to proceed quickly, it is also advised that visitors not bring briefcases, computers, or purses, etc… These items must be inspected individually by Boeing security officers upon entering and leaving the facility. This will be a walking tour; it is estimated that that the total distance to be walked is about 1 mile. Boeing requests that visitors wear closed-toe shoes.
The tour of the Boeing Mesa plant is open only to registered workshop attendees. To provide enough time for Boeing to clear everyone in advance, anyone who is interested in being on the tour must take the following two actions by January 31: 1. REGISTER for the workshop if you have not already done so: please go to https://payments.serdp-estcp.org/workshops/tempe/registration and follow the prompts. The registration process generates a receipt on the last page, which you can print for your records; an automatic email is also sent to you, confirming your registration. Payment can be made on-line, by credit card, when you register or you can choose to pay on-site. To pay on-site at the workshop, choose pay by check or P.O., and in the box for P.O. type "ON-SITE". Leave the check number box blank. 2. Register for the tour. If you want to be on the tour, please click here to send an email and include your full name, company name, and country of citizenship. The organizers are compiling a list of tour registrants; if you are not on this list, Boeing will not admit you to the plant.
Non-US Citizens: All foreign visitors to the Boeing Mesa plant will need to sign an ‘international visitor’s statement of assurance’ when they arrive at the plant. Click here to view a sample of such a statement. This is a ‘heads up’ for anyone who might need to discuss it with their management before they sign up for the tour. Foreign visitors from embargoed countries, as determined by the US Department of State, will not be admitted. All foreign visitors must show a valid passport to Boeing security upon arrival at the plant. Since non-US citizens are restricted as to where they can tour, they will be in a separate touring group.
